With over $7mm spent on eight domain name related acquisitions in 2007, our first year of operation, WildSites now has a unique base of traffic generating, traffic monetization, social networking and shopping related assets to drive significant organic growth. Coupled with a continuation of our aggressive acquisition strategy, WildSites is poised to emerge as a template for a fully integrated new media company for the new millennium.
WildSites acquired five portfolios in 2007, and is continuing to scour the globe for attractive portfolio acquisitions. With over 30,000 domain names generating over three million monthly uniques, we're off to a good start.
In 2007, WildSites developed a traffic monetization platform leveraging CPC, CPA and CPM based revenue generation opportunities. Currently in Beta, TrafficApp is already generating meaningful CPA revenue for WildSites. As TrafficApp is developed and refined, WildSites revenue growth will accelerate, and TrafficApp will open its platform to other domainers, creating another significant business opportunity for WildSites.
Core to WildSites strategy is our belief that domain names are analogous to real estate, and we often refer to our domain name assets as "digital real estate". While our portfolio of over 30,000 domain names include many compelling pieces of digital real estate, we believe that there is a limited number of "beachfront" property available that can be developed from vacant lots in to leading internet brands.
Our first acquisition of beach front property was our acquisition of CreditCheck.com and FreeCreditCheck.com in June. Those properties were subsequently sold.
In October 2007, WildSites led the $1 million acquisition of Rebates.com and Rebate.com, with plans to develop a dynamic competitor in the rapidly growing internet marketplace for comparison and discount shopping. The site is currently in Beta, with plans for a broad rollout in March of 2008.
In January of 2008, WildSites lead the acquisition of the assets of Bolt.com, the original teen social network, launched in 1996. Over the years Bolt registered over 12,000,000 active members, and was one of the top 1,000 most trafficked sites in the world according to Alexa.
In addition to Bolt's great portfolio of domain names, Bolt's highly scalable, highly flexible social networking platform will be integrated in to several WildSites properties. In addition, WildSites is already engaged in active discussions to white label the social networking platform to other domainers.
Another significant Bolt asset is its brand name among Fortune 1000 youth advertisers. WildSites looks forward to leveraging that brand name to drive significant brand advertising revenue across its network of owned and repped sites.
